Black Labs Are In The House!

The wait for our Pirate and Liz puppies is over.

Liz was looking especially enormous the day before she whelped, but she was still active and having fun throwing the ball for herself in the house.

Puppies arrived without much fuss, ten in all. 5 boys and 5 girls all healthy and thriving.

At this stage, they nurse and sleep, nurse and sleep, repeat. Liz is doing a good job of taking care of them and the nannies are standing by waiting for their turn.

Next step, eyes and ears will be opening and the morphing will begin in earnest.

Koda Puppies Outdoor Adventure

Koda's puppies are now 6 weeks old. They have had their first vaccinations and are ready to romp and explore. They all remain very bold and adjusted very quickly to the world outdoors.

At the end of the day, after enjoying a good meal, I spend time with them in their runs. They love to create the ultimate puppy pile on my lap. There is nothing better!

They'll be headed to their new homes soon, off for the ultimate adventure!!

Splash Puppies Enjoying House Time

Splash's puppies have had a ball in the house. They are eating their puppy smoothies and are ready to go to the big house to have more room to play. They have had exposure to house sounds and now will be exposed to more sights, sounds and smells. 

Happy 3rd Week Birthday, Splash Puppies

Splash's puppies are thriving and have developed their own voices!! 

They have gone from snoozing and eating constantly, to walking, talking and exploring their world.

The nannies continue their work, socializing, cleaning and playing with them.

Splash is taking great care of her puppies. They are getting plenty to eat and will start their smoothies next week. Their teeth are starting to show....youch!

Trimming nails is SO much easier when they are asleep! 96 toenails in all!

As usual, photos and video are much easier to shoot when the nannies, not the moms, are hanging with them.

They are ready for more great adventures!

Fat and Sassy

Week three is almost behind us for Koda's puppies. Their eyes and ears are open and they are just getting their sea legs under them. We tiptoe through the house, trying not to wake them.

The nannies continue to keep a close eye on them and have started to become obstacles to climb over. The downside to this is their ability to climb out of the whelping box in the middle of the night, raising holy heck until someone comes and rescues them.

The night time is filled with the sounds of puppy barks as they test out their new skills, oh goody!

Apparently, social media sites have become part of Puppy Socialization 101.

They are finding out what toys are about, as well as how each other tastes!

They have just been started on puppy smoothies to supplement Mom's milk.

Life is now a party!

They have no idea how many puppy adventures are ahead of them!
